On the workshop entitled “Attracting and Stimulating Investment in local communities” organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in BiH in collaboration with USAID Sida Growth-Oriented Local Development (GOLD) Project, AmCham BiH members had the opportunity to learn about the so far implemented activities of the Project. At the same time the representatives of the Project learned about all of the obstacles that the AmCham members are facing like inefficient administration, law enforcement, the lack of modern industrial and business zones, labor shortages and other.
USAID Sida GOLD project supports 47 local communities in BiH in order to improve their business environment, achieve their development goals and economic growth. At the same time the Project supports the development of the private sector. One of the mechanisms is a Grant Program that aims to provide a flexible source of funding organizations whose proposals will contribute to achieving the objectives of the Project, and to finance or co-finance specific expenses that may lead to an increase in overall economic growth and development of BiH.
The USAID Sida GOLD Project Grant Program will finance only activities that can contribute to the achievement of four project objectives: creating new jobs, increasing the value of investments, increasing the value of sales and exports.
The aim of the GOLD project’s work is to create a local economic development model that can be replicated throughout the country, laying the groundwork for sustained economic growth.
