AmCham BiH signed a contract with the USAID Workforce and Access to Higher Markets (WHAM) project, which is a USAID-funded activity designed to create jobs in Bosnia and Herzegovina through trade integration with the European Union (EU) and regional markets. WHAM offers grants to high-growth, exporting, and export-ready small and medium enterprises from the wood, metal, textile, footwear sector and ICT sectors.
Through this grant, AmCham BiH will implement a number of programs targeted to improve the workforce of AmCham’s member companies operating in the ICT sector. Via our events, initiatives and campaigns during the duration of the program we plan to continue actively advancing American best practices, high standards of commercial practice and a sound business climate here in BiH.
AmCham BiH will provide its members with opportunities for networking, information-sharing, and problem solving (advocacy and activities to improve the business environment). Also, through committees, informal working groups and various networking and informational events till the end of March 2020 AmCham BiH will keep its membership involved, informed and connected in joint interests for improving the business climate in BiH.
American Chamber of Commerce in BiH recognizes the benefits of the workforce development. Workforce development helps create a culture of learning and constructive attitudes that builds a workforce’s tangible and intangible abilities to manage and deal with future challenges.
AmCham BiH through this grant program will continue building and maintaining strong relationships between its members, foreign investors, local decision and policy makers, other AmChams, the international community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, thought leaders and experts.
The signing of the contract was also attended by representatives from the U.S. Embassy in BiH.
