Members of the AmCham BiH Board of Governors discussed the priority issues and challenges facing member companies, the business opportunities, and overall opportunities for American investment and increased trade in BiH with Mrs. Suzanne Platt the Commercial Officer from the U.S. Commercial Service from Belgrade. The meeting was also successful with good sources of information, advice and feedback on how AmCham BiH should ideally operate, given the fact that Mrs. Platt is highly experienced with the AmCham operations.


Methods of cooperation between US government’s leading commercial and business representative for the region and the American Chamber of Commerce in BiH were highlighted on the meeting, on how to work together and attract more investment and expand positive business opportunities in BiH.


Mrs. Platt underlined the services they provide to assist U.S. companies in doing business in Serbia, which can be extend to companies in BiH. She believes that the trade show “The International Buyer Program” in the organization of U.S. Commercial Service Belgrade, can assist companies from BiH willing to upgrade their business processes. This trade show is a joint government-industry effort that brings thousands of international buyers to the United States for business-to-business matchmaking with U.S. firms exhibiting at major industry trade shows. Companies have an opportunity to identify and meet with motivated business people attending the shows.


It’s all about matchmaking, market research, advocacy, and commercial diplomacy for U.S. companies in terms of understanding the market situation as well as to identify opportunities and partnership.


The U.S. Commercial Service from Belgrade is more than willing to provide assistance to AmCham BiH members who want to benefit from participating in the “International Buyer Program” trade show. The cooperation between AmCham BiH and The U.S. Commercial Service from Belgrade is aimed toward increasing and strengthening the commercial ties between the United States and BiH.
