In the impressive setting of Sarajevo City Hall, AmCham BiH proudly held the closing ceremony for the third generation of the Leader Roots program — an educational initiative designed to build leadership capacity among young professionals in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Over the course of nine months, 50 participants from 34 AmCham BiH member companies took part in a dynamic learning journey focused on modern leadership, personal development, and strategic thinking. Tailored for ambitious mid-managers and rising talents, Leader Roots provides a platform for those who want to lead responsibly and inspire growth in their organizations.
The final ceremony brought together program participants, their mentors – representatives of 11 hosting companies, as well as leaders from the broader business community. The evening featured inspirational speeches, a panel on leadership in today’s business landscape, and a musical performance by cellist Belma Kubat.
In his address, AmCham BiH Executive Director Nedim Hamzić noted:
“Young people don’t need to wait for someone to declare them leaders. Leadership is not a title — it’s a vision and a responsibility we carry, even when no one is watching. This generation proves that Bosnia and Herzegovina has individuals who don’t wait to be led — they lead.”
The program was strongly supported by 11 Business Leaders – member companies that hosted learning sessions and shared their expertise: AS Holding, Authority Partners, Coca-Cola HBC B-H, Hemofarm, Lanaco, Nelt, Raiffeisen Bank, Roche, Telemach BH, UniCredit Bank, and Zira. Through interactive modules, Harvard case studies, field visits, and real-life business insights, participants were exposed to the inner workings of leading companies in BiH.
With over 150 alumni to date, Leader Roots has built a growing network of young professionals who don’t belong to one company or industry, but to a community grounded in shared values — knowledge, accountability, and integrity. That network, when nurtured, has the potential to shape the business landscape of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
