The American Chamber of Commerce in BiH (AmCham BiH) today organized an event in Mostar showcasing its socially responsible activities aimed at supporting vulnerable groups in society. Visitors had the opportunity to learn about the work of various associations and see handicrafts made by their beneficiaries, adding a special value to the event.
As part of its fundraising campaign, AmCham BiH invited its member companies to support eight selected associations: „Srce za djecu oboljelu od raka“ Sarajevo, „SOS dječija sela BiH“ Sarajevo i Gračanica, „Udruženje PIPOL“ Tuzla, „ISKRA“ Banja Luka, „Udruga roditelja i djece sa posebnim potrebama Vedri osmijeh“ Mostar, „Centar za djecu i omladinu sa posebnim potrebama Los Rosales“ Mostar i „Prijateljska kuća“ Doboj. The goal is to raise funds that will enable these associations to continue their support projects for those in dire need of their services.
"We are aware of our duty to society, and therefore we are extremely pleased to have joined forces in this mission. All of us, in our respective industries, contribute to the development of our economy and the progress of our country, but we are particularly pleased to be able to help our most vulnerable groups of citizens who need our support. Being united through the American Chamber of Commerce in BiH certainly gives us the opportunity to jointly direct funds towards associations that, in their missions, provide opportunities for a better life and make our country a better place," said Amina Mahmutović, Chairwoman of the AmCham BiH Board of Directors and President of the Management Board of UniCredit Bank d.d., emphasizing the importance of the business sector's active contribution to the local community.
Nedim Hamzić, Director of AmCham BiH, stated: "AmCham BiH brings together numerous companies that recognize their responsibility to the community. With this donation campaign, we are creating a space for raising awareness and joint action for the benefit of the most vulnerable groups."
Danijela Kegelj, a representative of the Vedri Osmijeh association from Mostar, emphasized that children with special needs must be given the opportunity to show their potential and be equal members of society. Expressing gratitude for the support of the American Chamber of Commerce in BiH and its members, who recognized the importance of investing in projects with real social impact, she stressed: "This event gives a voice to the needs of our beneficiaries, and in this way, we contribute to a better understanding of these needs in the wider public."
The collected funds will be allocated to the associations on December 5th, and AmCham BiH will continue to promote projects that contribute to community development and support those most in need.
