The American Chamber of Commerce in BiH (AmCham BiH) launched a fundraising initiative in Banja Luka as part of the preparations for the traditional Gala Dinner, which gathers the business community to support the most vulnerable members of society.

This event provided an opportunity for attendees to learn about the significant work of associations that are making a difference in the lives of those who need help the most: Srce za djecu oboljelu od raka, Sarajevo; SOS dječija sela BiH, Sarajevo and Gračanica; Udruženje PIPOL, Tuzla; ISKRA, Banja Luka; Udruga roditelja i djece s posebnim potrebama "Vedri osmijeh" Mostar; Centar za djecu i omladinu s posebnim potrebama "Los Rosales" Mostar; and Prijateljska kuća, Doboj.

AmCham BiH Secretary General, Nedim Hamzić, expressed his satisfaction with the strong turnout of company representatives at today's event. "Corporate social responsibility is not new in our country; it is a crucial aspect that contributes to the development of the community. Today, we are once again witnessing great participation. CSR is also not unfamiliar to our organization. Two years ago, we celebrated 20 years of socially responsible work, with many entrepreneurs from across BiH involved."

Among the organizations receiving donations is Udruženje Iskra from Banja Luka, which provides psychosocial support to children with cancer and their parents. "AmCham’s support means a lot to us, as the additional funds will allow us to include more families in our annual rehabilitation camps," said Tatjana Stojičić, Chairperson of the Board of Udruženje Iskra.

The Udruga roditelja i djece s posebnim potrebama "Vedri osmijeh" from Mostar, which has been supporting people with disabilities for over 20 years, will also be part of this campaign. Recently, they started offering a home care service, the first of its kind in Herzegovina. "We like to say that it’s not those with material wealth who give, but those with hearts full of love. This is a story about people with a high level of social responsibility, and this funding will mean a lot to us in our daily work," said Danijela Kegelj, Chairperson of the Board of the Udruga.

Stefan Ličina, Head of Public Relations at m-tel, emphasized their pride in the long-standing partnership with AmCham BiH. "We have participated in various joint CSR projects, and we are especially proud of initiatives such as the donation of medical equipment for children's oncology departments," Ličina said.
