American Chamber of Commerce in BiH (AmCham BiH) last Thursday held an online panel discussion in a cooperation with our member Oracle BH for the representatives of the financial and IT sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The title of this panel was Road to Recovery - Bank of the Future, and we discussed topics on creating new business strategies for the future in the financial sector.

Panelists spoke about technological trends, new generations and pandemics as drivers of the digitalization process on the one hand, and on the other hand about the readiness of the financial, regulatory and IT sectors to respond to these challenges. Through their own business experiences, they discussed the development of new strategies that will ensure successful business in the market during and after the pandemic and how the last year has affected their businesses.

„The discussion addressed open issues relevant to the future of the banking industry. The transformation is necessary in order for us to continue to be in line with market trends, and I am extremely pleased that Raiffeisen Bank is already following this path. With an agile approach, we introduce digital technologies into our business and adapt our business models. We also perform transformation of our traditional branches and introduce new digital branches called iPoslovnice, but we do not forget that direct contact with the Bank's staff for customers is still extremely important, "said Azra Hadžiomeragić, Director of Retail Sales at Raiffeisen Bank dd BiH.

"Banks are not and will not be" IT driven ". They will always be "market driven". Strong IT support is crucial and is becoming increasingly important in the digitalization, optimization and general transformation of the bank, both internally and in the products and services it offers to the market. IT should accept this role as an honor and a privilege, but also a responsibility in the future progress of banks, "said Amer Hadžikadić, a Board member at Sparkasse Bank.

Technological trends, new generations and the time of the pandemic as drivers of digitalization on the one hand, and the readiness of the financial, regulatory and IT sectors on the other are just some of the topics we touched during the panel "Road to recovery - Bank of the Future" organized by AmCham BiH, with the support of Oracle BH. I was extremely pleased to share information that we at Info Studio, as one of the BiH leaders in the delivery of software solutions for financial institutions, have responded to all challenges and successfully supported the steps of digital transformation of all our clients by implementing Smart solutions based on cloud, AI / ML, IoT, AR / VR, Analytics and other world-class technologies and concepts ", said Bojan Sadiković, Sales Director at Info Studio.

Dejan Vukosavljević, a Board member at Nova Banka a.d. Banja Luka emphasized the importance of synergy of all key parties in this process in order to raise the financial sector to a new level, introduce new innovations in a quality manner and effectively combine them with successful practices from past.

Alen Husić, Acting Country Leader at Oracle BH, concluded the panel emphasizing the synergy between business and IT, in tems of speed and agility that everyone agreed was the foundation for future success.

"I am personally pleased that together with AmCham BiH we have realized such a productive panel with top experts from the financial and IT sector. As the panelists pointed out, the only real constant is the need for change and we as a vendor and our partners understand this very well because we ourselves are going through transformation processes. We hope that the panel will be just a starting point for better mutual cooperation between all of us in the chain, including the regulator of the banking sector ", says Husić.

AmCham BiH will continue to be the voice of business and support activities that have a positive impact on the development of the economy and business climate in BiH.
