American Chamber of Commerce in BiH, in cooperation with its member company Authority Partners, organized an AmCham ICT Committee meeting with Mr. Elmedin Konaković, Prime Minister of the Sarajevo Canton. The meeting was organized with the aim of establishing cooperation between AmCham BiH and Sarajevo Canton, for implementing the activities/measures from The AmCham ICT Committee Strategy 2015 – 2016, that are under the jurisdiction of the Sarajevo Canton, through different models of participation of ICT companies.
On the meeting was pointed out that the Canton Government should have the intention to develop the competitiveness of the Canton of Sarajevo following the examples of the EU countries, the rapid development of information technology sector ( “ICT”), by creating a flexible workforce with the necessary digital skills, promoting the construction of ICT infrastructure, attracting ICT investments and generally creating a better business climate in BiH. As well as the fact, that AmCham BiH with the support of the US Embassy in BiH, in its membership has companies that are interested in the development of the ICT sector, for the sake of the competitiveness of the country and their own business.
The meeting was concluted with a cooperation between AmCham BiH and the Sarajevo Canton, where the Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton summoned all to another meeting, in 15 days, at the building of the Government of the Federation. The next meeting will be attended by ministers of the relevant ministries of interest for the realization of activites in the Strategy, so that united it can be easier to implement the Action Plan proposed in The AmCham ICT Committee Strategy 2015 – 2016, which can make be the ICT sector in BiH the number one driver of overall economic development in BiH.
