The AmCham BiH Ethics & Compliance Committee has launched a new cycle of activities through the Ethics & Compliance Road Trip initiative, designed to highlight concrete, practice-based examples of how ethics and compliance are implemented within companies operating in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The first visit under this initiative took place on November 3, 2025, at Carlsberg BH, a member of the Committee. The visit offered Committee members knowledge about how Carlsberg systematically builds and maintains a culture of ethical business conduct and compliance through its daily operations, internal processes, and continuous communication with employees.
During the meeting, the Carlsberg BH team presented their comprehensive compliance framework, emphasizing the active role of management in setting the tone and promoting ethical values across the organization. The program includes an annual risk assessment covering key areas such as anti-bribery and corruption, competition law, personal data protection, and trade sanctions, followed by the introduction of targeted mitigation measures. Continuous employee training and awareness-building activities form a core pillar of the program, ensuring that compliance principles are understood and applied at all organizational levels.
Particular attention was given to Carlsberg’s Speak Up system, which enables employees to report potential irregularities and reinforces a culture of trust, transparency, and accountability. Compliance was presented not as a one-time exercise, but as an ongoing, cyclical process that connects risk assessment, prevention measures, training, monitoring, and regular communication with both management and staff.
The discussion also addressed broader challenges faced by companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina when implementing ethics and compliance programs, as well as opportunities for joint initiatives that could further strengthen integrity, transparency, and responsible business conduct across the wider business community.
AmCham BiH extends its sincere gratitude to Amir Tobudić and the Carlsberg BH team for their hospitality, openness, and willingness to share practical experiences and lessons learned that can serve as inspiration for other member companies.
The visit was attended by members of the Ethics & Compliance Committee: Ezmana Turković (Marić & Co.), Senada Merdžanović (Coca-Cola HBC B-H), and Mila Crnogorac Bajić (Net Consulting).
This visit marks only the first stop of the AmCham BiH Ethics & Compliance Road Trip. In the coming months, the Committee will continue visiting companies that actively develop and strengthen their ethics and compliance programs, with the aim of promoting real-life examples that support responsible business conduct, transparency, and long-term integrity in the market.
