What is your opinion about medical tourism in Bosnia and Herzegovina?

Medical tourism in Bosnia and Herzegovina is much needed and we certainly have something to offer. They would perfectly combine the health and tourism industry, where they would attract visitors from all over the world who want to improve their health, while also enjoying the natural and cultural beauty of our country. Medical tourism as an economic term is still underutilized, and I believe that by giving importance to medical tourism, much more can be contributed to the economic development of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Bosnia and Herzegovina offers high-quality services from various medical branches and there is certainly room for development in vascular surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, IVF, aesthetic surgery, and ophthalmology.

What we must not leave out, and I would like to emphasize, are natural spas, that is, medical spas, which, in addition to eliminating health problems, offer patients a complete rest for the soul and body. Giving importance to medical tourism would also have a positive impact on reducing the ``brain drain`` currently occurring in BiH, where it would stop doctors and other medical personnel from going abroad, and would also provide other young educated people with a reason to stay in their country where they would make a significant contribution in their fields.

Treatment prices in BiH are significantly lower than in other Western European countries, and the quality of services offered is at a high level, making us increasingly attractive to foreign tourists as a tourist destination. In addition to medical services, BiH has rich natural tourist potential, including mountains, lakes, historical monuments, so in addition to the health services received, tourists certainly have something to enrich their stay in our country. A large number of health institutions in BiH are already promoting BiH as a destination for medical tourism at the "micro" level, but in order to realize the true potential, unity and a common goal are needed in order to fully utilize resources. No huge investments are needed because the infrastructure already exists, only greater will of the state and people in leading positions, to finally recognize the potential that this country has and use it in the right way for the benefit of all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Medical tourism is in a growth phase and I am sure that as a branch of tourism it can make a great contribution to the economic development of the country.

What modern vein treatment methods do you use in your work?

Over the last decade, the clinic has established itself as a regional leader in the field of phlebology, providing top-notch care and innovative treatments that not only cure, but also boost patients' self-confidence. The modern approach to vein treatment in this clinic includes the use of the latest technologies and methods, with special emphasis on minimally invasive treatments.

The clinic uses three methods in the treatment of diseased veins, which are: Endovenous Laser Ablation, Microphlebectomy and ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy. The combination of these three methods has proven to be the most successful in the treatment of varicose veins, both in our country and in the world. All procedures are minimally invasive, i.e. painless and do not prevent patients from performing their daily activities and obligations.

CVI is the only clinic in Bosnia and Herzegovina that deals exclusively with phlebology and that offers patients with this specific type of problem a complete service from diagnostics to healthy legs again.

How would you describe your collaboration with the Chicago Vein Institute in the USA?

As a partner clinic of the Chicago Vein Institute, founded in 2002 in the USA, the Sarajevo Clinic uses the same principles and standards of treatment. All doctors have been trained in our home clinic in America, and the most modern equipment identical to the equipment in the USA is used. This means that every patient can be sure that they are in professional hands and in a place where expertise and innovation come together.

Our advantage is that with every innovation that occurs on the American market, we are among the first to be familiar with it and we are the first to provide services to patients on the European market. Thanks to daily communication between the teams in the USA and Bosnia and Herzegovina, the best everyday solutions for patients are quickly reached. What we want to emphasize for our patients is that there is absolutely no difference in the quality of service in our clinic in Sarajevo from that we provide to patients in America.

By opening a branch of the Chicago Vein Institute in Sarajevo, we have proven that investing in Bosnia and Herzegovina can be a very successful and positive business, if you bring with you good ideas, knowledge and skills such as perseverance and perseverance.
